We finished our half term with an important whole school assembly to celebrate Harvest. We sang songs and prayed to thank God for all that we have. Aidan from Storehouse came to collect our donations of oil, sugar and toiletries and explained the importance of giving to those who are less fortunate. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your kind donations. It will really make a difference!

  • P6 football tournament

    Published 18/10/22

The P6s were invited to the annual Boys Model P6 football tournament up at Mount Pleasant today, Tuesday 18th October. The weather was gorgeous and the football on show from our girls and boys was even better. The team came home as tournament winners, having won their 5 group games, including a great 2-1 win over local rivals from Tennent Street. In the final, the team, captained by Lennox, managed to win 2-1 over Springhill PS in a tightly contested match. A lovely day out; especially when you win and win in the right spirit. Well done to the P6s!

  • Glenwood Sponsored Read

    Published 31/03/22

Thank you to everyone who took part in our sponsored reading event. The sponsor money was going to a local charity called Cancer Fund for Children. It was great to get everyone involved and excited about reading while at the same time raising money for a great cause. We have been overwhelmed by the support from our parents and children and are so proud to announce that we raised £5,000 for the charity. This was the highest total the charity had ever received from a primary school. We welcomed Rebecca from the charity on Tuesday to present her with the cheque. We are so proud of the school community and it is such a lovely feeling to know that all the money will go to help children fighting this horrible disease. Thank you for all your continued support.

  • Football Match Report

    Published 08/03/22

On Friday 4th March, on a beautiful spring day, the school football team was invited over to Mount Pleasant to take on the Boys' Model’s Year 8s. It was a very competitive friendly with both teams producing moments of quality. The lads went down 6-2 but for many periods of the match it was a fairly even contest. Mr Stanfield awarded Justin with the man of the match award and Kyle almost scored his hat trick; coming away with a pair of very well taken goals. It was a great training opportunity for the team with an upcoming Cup match on the horizon.
