Take a look at the video to see how the children of Glenwood have settled into school life so far!
A group of 4 P7's were very fortunate to get weekly support with their Numeracy through the Time2Count programme. A group of volunteers from the Caterpillar team in the Springvale Facility supported the children using maths games they purchased to help build confidence and ability. The children really enjoyed these sessions.
Today marked the last day for our P7 children in Glenwood Primary School. They all received their records of achievements and celebrated with their friends and family.
We wish them every success as they move on to their new schools.
Well done to our P7 year group who attended prize giving this morning. The children received subject prizes, sporting prizes and lots more.
The P5 children had a great day at the Ulster Museum which was connected to their learning about Egypt. They got the chance to see Takabuti, a real mummy, and explore the museum.
A great day!
Sports Day for P1 - P7 was held this week, and it was great to see so many spectators coming along to watch. The children competed in a range of races, including: sprint, relay, obstacle and spud and spoon.
Well done to all the children for taking part!
Every year, the P7 year group embark on creating a business with the support of Young Enterprise. This helps develop real life skills and includes a focus on the skills of communication, teamwork, decision making, problem solving, ICT skills, creative thinking and digital skills.
This year, 4 pupils from P7 Ritchie and P7 McDaid were very fortunate to have the experience of real life selling in Castle Court at the Young Enterprise mini market on Friday 14th June. The children performed really well and made lots of money alongside developing lifelong skills.
The P7 McDaid team got an award for creating a sustainable product and the entrepreneurial skills displayed by P7 Ritchie awarded them Entreprenurial Spirit.
The P7 children enjoyed a two-night stay at the Delamont Outdoor Learning Centre. The children got to have a go at: river walking, rock climbing, archery, night-line walking and speed-boating!
A great few days to mark the end of their time at Glenwood!
With special thanks to: Mr Bradley, Miss Hughes, Miss Clarke, Mr White, Mrs McDaid, Miss Heaney, Mrs Lee, Mr Shortt and Mr Cowan for taking the children.
Well done to our P5 football team, who beat Edenbrooke 2-0 this week.
We had a super start to science week with an assembly led by Mr Smith, head of Science at the Boys Model.
We look forward to completing lots of science in school and seeing what experiments you complete at home.
